My work draws on the philosophy of traditional Korean ink painting, reinterpreted through contemporary figurative artwork.

Presence over realism

Inspired by the philosophy of traditional Korean ink painting, my work explores the human experience through expressive figurative painting.

Working in charcoal, ink, and mixed media, I use gesture, texture, and negative space to create works that balance quiet contemplation with emotional presence.

Public Artwork

My practice extends beyond the studio into public art. The Pennyweight Walk mural demonstrates how the expressive qualities of my figurative work can be translated from charcoal and ink into large-scale outdoor painting, while maintaining the same emphasis on gesture, movement, and human connection.
